Sunny Reunites with Greeny on ‘Invincible Youth 2′

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny garnered attention after reuniting with Greeny, the cow she met through the first season of “Invincible Youth”. It had been one year since they last met.
During the latest recording of “Invincible Youth 2″, G8 members invited villagers and other surprise guests to the opening ceremony of the idol village. Girls’ Generation’s Sunny and miss A’s Suzy were given the special mission of “ushering a special guest”, and visited Yoochiri, the site where the first season’s memories were created.
After seeing that nothing had changed in the village since the first season, Sunny showed Suzy the crops they grew themselves, and began to reminisce, also telling Suzy about the animals they cared for. In particular Sunny, couldn’t help but feel sorry to the mascot of the first season, Pureumi.
After the cow entered the idol village in the first season, Sunny became Greeny’s owner by winning a quiz segment. As if Greeny knew who her owner was, she would always listen to Sunny more than the other G7 members. On Sunny’s last day of “Invincible Youth”, she cried thinking of having to leave her. Soon after, Greeny also showed tears, showing the bond between human and animal.
Seeing her for the first time in a year, Sunny tried to coax a sulking Greeny by saying, “I’m sorry I couldn’t visit often.” It was said that Sunny personally cooked and fed Greeny her favorite cabbage, and stayed there waiting until Greeny opened up to Sunny again.

YouTube Compiles Girls’ Generation Videos for New Feature

YouTube has proven to be an important force in helping spread Girls’ Generation across the world. Their music videos have tens of millions of views each: “Gee” with 59 million, “Oh!” with 45 million”, and “Run Devil Run” with 33 million, just to name a few. However, not only are their music videos popular, but many fan-made videos and TV show clips are as well. These videos have been important in spreading awareness of Girls’ Generation on YouTube, not to mention the fact that they are funny, moving and informative in their own right. It can be really hard to actually come across a lot of these videos, but a new YouTube feature has made that task much easier.
YouTube created a new feature called “Topics” where they compile videos from all over the website into something like a channel that you can subscribe to. Google, as the owner of YouTube, has recognized the growing popularity of K-Pop, and in addition to their plans to create a dedicated K-Pop channel on YouTube, they have included compilations of K-Pop videos for their new Topics feature.
Girls’ Generation has their own topic into which YouTube has compiled all the videos relating to the group. The topic shows a description of the group: “Members Hyoyeon, Jessica, Seohyun, Sooyoung, Sunny, Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yoona, and Yuri had — for the most part — been a part of Korean pop media, appearing in commercials and ads before winning places in Girls Generation and making their debut as such in the summer of 2007.”
The Girls’ Generation topic has over 133,000 videos compiled with a total of over 1.6 billion views. Not only are there hundreds of millions of views with their music videos, but the amount of videos related to Girls’ Generation is staggering.
As if that wasn’t enough, there are topics for each member of the group as well, compiling all videos of each member together. For instance, Taeyeon has over 37,000 videos with a total of over 500 million views.  The same goes with Tiffany’s topic. Jessica seems to be extremely popular, with over 100,000 videos and 1 billion views for videos that are related to her. Also, each member’s “channel” has a description of her and her accomplishments. For example, Sooyoung’s description includes her time before her debut with Girls’ Generation.  It says, “After winning first place in the 2002 Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo, Sooyoung was sent to Japan and debuted as a member of the duo Route 0, alongside Malina Takahashi.”
You can subscribe to each member as well as the group to see new videos of them on your YouTube homepage, from official videos from SM Entertainment to a fan-made compilation of Taeyeon laughing to the latest cuts of MC YulTi on “Music Core”.
Check out the Girls’ Generation topic on YouTube here, where you can also reach the rest of the members’ pages on the sidebar. The new Girls’ Generation and member topics will no doubt strengthen their fast growing popularity outside of Korea. Watching Girls’ Generation videos has never been easier.

Girls’ Generation Talk About Their Eating Habits

Girls’ Generation recently recorded an episode of Mnet’s “The Beatles Code” which is set to air on the 8th at 7PM KST. During the show, the MCs, Yoon Jongshin and Yoo Seyoon, asked the girls, “Is it true that the members can all eat without worrying about their weight? Do you really not go on diets?” In response to this, the members replied, “We just eat what we like to eat, and not eat those that we don’t want to. We’re just like everyone else.”
Girls’ Generation went on to say, “It’s not that we don’t gain any weight no matter how much we eat, but Sooyoung and Yoona are the exceptions. They don’t seem to gain any weight at all despite eating so much. Especially Yoona, she doesn’t even get bloated!” After Girls’ Generation revealed this, the whole studio burst into laughter.
The questions continued and Girls’ Generation was asked who loved Korean food the most. Once again, Yoona was brought up as the eight girls all chose her. They said, “Sooyoung and Yoona love to eat Korean food. However, Yoona is a big eater and she especially likes it when there is a wide variety of side dishes.”
During the episode, the girls also opened up about times when they were jealous of each other. Taeyeon admitted that during “We Got Married”, she was jealous of Seohyun. She elaborated on this by saying, “The both of us starred in ‘We Got Married’, but we ended up with completely different guys. It’s difficult to be casted in the same variety show with friends your age, and for that, I was jealous of Seohyun.” This was in reference to the fact that Seohyun was “married” to CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa, and Taeyeon to comedian, Jung Hyungdon.
Yuri and Sooyoung also revealed a “behind story” which will be further revealed during the broadcast.

Girls’ Generation to Attend Music Station Super Live 2011

Following closely on the heels of their charismatic performance at the “FNS Music Festival”, Girls’ Generation has been invited to perform at Music Station’s year end finale, “Music Station Super Live 2011″.
The performance will be held at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe event hall on December 23, starting at 7pm JST.
With the success of their first Japanese album, which has sold over 850,000 copies, and their concert tour, which saw over 140,000 fans attend the performances, Girls’ Generation has made a lasting impression on the Japanese music industry. This success has translated into invitations to major year end shows such as “Kouhaku Uta Gassen”, “FNS Music Festival”, and “Music Station Super Live 2011″.
This will be the second year in a row that Girls’ Generation will be attending the year end show hosted by Music Station. Last year at “Music Station Super Live 2010″ Girls’ Generation performed the Japanese versions of their hit songs “Gee” and “Genie”.
Despite not actively promoting in Japan at the moment, the spotlight continues to shine on Girls’ Generation as broadcasting companies aim to secure their appearance on major year end shows.

Countdown Until Girls’ Generation’s First Japanese Album Sells a Million Copies Gets Underway

Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album “Girls’ Generation” has sold over 850,000 units, becoming one of the top selling albums in Japan this year. However, with the recent announcement of a re-packaged album going on sale, the countdown to one million copies has officially started.
Pre-orders for the re-packaged album have already started today, which will arrive in stores on December 28. Two new songs will be present in the new album, one which will be the Japanese version of “The Boys”, which was released worldwide on October 19. The second of the two songs is titled “Time Machine”. Also included on the album will be the remixed versions of “Mr.Taxi”, “The Great Escape” and “BAD GIRL”.
Once the album reaches one million copies sold, it’ll be the first time any Korean group has ever accomplished this feat in Japan. With such an incredible milestone in reach, Girls’ Generation’s appearances at major shows such as the “FNS Music Festival” and the “62nd Kouhaku” are well deserved.
If Girls’ Generation’s album reaches the one million sold mark, it will be the first album to reach this difficult plateau in Japan this year.
